About the Family Support Program
In 1992, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation establishing a statewide Family Support Program. Statewide funding for this program is determined by our state legislators on a yearly basis. The program is administered by the State of Tennessee Division of Mental Retardation Services and managed by the Arc of Willilamson County. The program is designed to assist individuals with severe disabilities and their families to remain together in their homes and communities. Services provided include but are not limited to reimbursement for day care, respite care, specialized supplies, home and vehicle modifications, and equipment. Currently The Arc of Williamson County serves 168 families with 200 on the waiting list. If you would like to apply for the program or need more information, please call Sharon Bottorff at The Arc of Williamson County at 615-790-5815, ext. 3# or email sbbarc@bellsouth.net.

News from the Family Support Program
GOOD NEWS and Bad News! The Arc of Williamson County has received notification that we will receive funding for Family Support for 2009-2010. The bad news is that our allocation was cut by 20% and there is a verygood chance this will be the last year of Family Support. We will be sending out letters in the next few days to families who are approved for 2009-2010. There is a lot of information in the letters so please feel free to call us if you don't understand any of it. Also, please join us in working to keep Family Support alive for next year.
